In late 2013 RCKa was appointed by innovative residential developer Pocket Living to design a scheme comprising 44 apartments within an existing warehouse building in Lewisham.
The development includes a mix of Pocket's signature 1 bed 1 person apartments for first time buyers and a selection of larger units for private sale.
RCKa's bold scheme involved the sensitive reworking on the main street elevation where existing plastic windows are removed to allow the new dwellings to be slotted in behind the brick facade.
The west elevation - facing the railway - will be completely covered in a new contemporary cladding system which extends upwards to create a further two floors of accommodation which enjoy dramatic views across the city.
A new four-storey space at street level provides a dramatic sense of arrival into the scheme, with a range of shared internal and external amenity space throughout.
Planning permission was granted in August 2015, with completion of the scheme in mid 2017.
